many people think that since ants are so small that its not possible o be allergic to them. but i am have been since i was a lil girl. and when i get bit by one it swells more than it would someone who isnt allergic to them. then i will develop hives around the bite.

We ARE allergic to ant bites. That is what makes it itch. Some people are more allergic than others causing dangerous reactions. Just like mosquito bites, it is not the bite that hurts and itches, it is the fluid that she pumps into us to numb the area that we are allergic to causing inflammation and itchiness. At least this is what i have been taught

yeah it is possible i am and my brother is too if we get a bunch of bites we end up in the hospital but just one gets really swollen and it takes a few days for the bite to heal.

After 6 ant bites on my legs, I can definitely say it's possible. I had 2 weeks of excruciating pain, swelling spreading down to my feet, bruising and blistering despite a course of pencillin, antihistimines and steroid cream. These were just 'normal' red ants so I'm never going abroad!

Yes, it is. Especially fire ants. It is their JOB to be allergetic.

i got bit today by about 10-15 fire ants....i had the worst headache in my life,my face swell up,so did my ears,i had hives all over my body...this has never happened to me before,i've been bit by ants before but i guess not by 10 of them.my feet are swollen...looks like it's getting worse...i can barely step on my right foot.so,yeah,we're allergic!

yes,im allergic to red ( fire ant) bites,i get bite rashes wherever the ants bit me and it gets really hot.the bites resemble the rash of chicken pox.

yes, especially fire ants.I had one fire ant on my foot and it kept biting, i had 4 bite marks and it just sting, burn (hence the name fire ant) like mad, the area just got red and swell after i put ice on it and anti inflamitory, it started to retreat, it took 5 weeks for the bit marks to disappear.

Yes. I have a co-worker who gets a very bad allergic reaction to ant and bee bites.
