Relief. Freedom from certain superstitions. The added pressure of actually being responsible for your own actions... Even worse though - what are the consequences for believing in the wrong god? What if the Jews were right? Or the muslims, zoroastrians, buddhists, hindus, pagans, wiccans? What if the only people that got it right were the ancient egyptians, and everyone else has strayed from the true path?

If I don't subscribe to a belief in God or any deity, then any good fortune or misfortune that befalls me, I wouldn't therefore correllate as a consequence for any 'lack of belief'. or something like that....

u just dont get everlasting life in paradise im a jehovah's witness belive its true as have tried all other religions no such thing as hell it means a common grave so yh u stay there lol no torture tho but i prefere paradise to nothing tho so dnt wrry bout it if u dnt belive i guess ull never know anyway lol not sure how it wrks tho noone will know till judgement day lol best to just find the religion u beleve is the right one if its not or its just made up wt do u loose nothing

oh it's really great not believing in god and all the bullshit that goes along with it, and by the way, all the morons that say believe in him "just in case", you guys should really consider strapping bombs to yourselves and blowing up a few buildings for allah "just in case" you wont go to heaven and get all those virgins. come on. a lot of people ( millions)believe that in the world, "just in case" theyre right you should really consider it. hey it's your logic, i'm just telling you to use it on an example that's not christianity. note to stupid people- I'm not suggesting anyone blow up anything, just making a point.

nothing because i dont believe in god. So if i dont't believe in say heaven then why would i think i am going to hell. I live my life for me (i'm currently a college student) and hope to have a family of my own one day. My belief in God is completely unrelated to that goal.

In the long term : I don't know yet, I'll find out when I die. In the short term : I get the lecture from the one who believe. (it is very annoying)

The question would be better phrased; what are the consequences for too much belief in god? If you believe in god and that helps you treat your neighbors and family well and fairly, fine. If however you live your life constantly thinking of and fearing god, and ignoring all worldly considerations, your life is wasted. There are only two rules necessary, treat you neighbor like you want to be treated, the second and more difficult is "do no harm". Belief in god is immaterial and unnecessary if the above rule are followed. The consequences for following those rules are almost always good, whether god is watching or not.

Eddy G didn't like my first answer when I tried to paraphrase the question so that it made sense. My answer is that you get the weekend free. You can use science to understand the world and people that disagree don't burn you as a heritic. I live my life with the goal of god never nowing who I am because if you're good, your tested, if your bad your punished. I told this to a preacher and said that if there's a meeting with god and someone mentions your name, he says who? From what I read, if you get his attention, you're toast.
