Abner Doubleday has generally been considered to be the originator of baseball as we know it. There is some controversy surrounding this "fact". Mr. Chase or Mr. Doubleday, thanks for inventing a past time that I've spent over 40 years attempting to play or watching or trying to win fantasy leagues. My bet is on Mr. Chase. I've also read that it is an American version of 'Rounders' an British game.
