Somebody digs up one of your old questions & answers it. After that, it gets moved to the top of the stack so many other people notice it & answer as well.
-
No, it isnt odd, a bunch of us are digging through old questions, that havent been answered or are great questions with only a few answers. This is another example. http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/865330

Yeah. That's been happening a lot lately.
-
Summer re-runs? I know exactly what you mean, could it be a writer's strike?
-
I have always found that odd. I get answers to questions I forgot I answered.
-
Yes i have just had quite a few pass questions pop up again over this last 2 weeks.
-
That's something I enjoy doing on AB. Occasionally when someone answers my questions I will click on them and go to their old questions and answer a few just to see them get pulled back out. Also if I start to ask a question that is already out there, I will take time to answer it so that it reappears.

There's nothing odd about it. That's the way it's supposed to work. When someone has a question, they type it into search for answers, and all the old questions show up. Many old questions show up on the right side of the page, as "similar" questions that are very interesting. I often answer them.
-
If you look to the right side of the page, you will see "Similar Questions". When someone answers one of them, it will appear on the front page where others will also find it. That's why you get a cluster of people answering it. (I'm one of those who answer "Similar Questions.) :D
