  • There are ergonomics involved. Look on the internet, google is your friend. I did shop work repairing guitars and stood most of the time. I used a small bench about 6 inches high or so for one foot and switched off. Or a rail, whatever works as long as you don't have to move around a lot. Also getting quality comfortable well padded shoes that support too.
  • am sorry to hear this but no one should be allowed to stand for that amount of time. everyone should have a 30min break after working 4 hours,your employer is breaking the rules. there is no best way to stand for so long.
  • I have a pair of those walkfit insoles that you see on infommercials. They are the only thing I have ever seen/owned off an infommercial that actually does what it says. I don't ever want to be without them again.
  • If you are standing in a fixed area, then you can have a rubber, foam, or gel anti-fatigue mat to stand on.
