    l saw about 30 red cardinals on the side of the road in the gravel, and when l got close the all flew into the trees, l am from Indiana, marge

    If they do, they must migrate to my yard, as I see them all the time in the wintertime. Seems that I see them in the summer too, so I would have to agree with perryman that they don't.

    No they do not.

    Cardinals do not migrate, but individuals may wander over a widespread area. As with most wildlife species, cardinals have a very short life span. Most cardinals live only one year or less; a two or three year old brid is a rarity.

    I just saw a cardinal in my garden yesterday.
