• Because they can't hum. ?
    • Beaker Five-O
How do you know this ?!
    • Ice man
Because I'm smart too (and a little birdy told me so). Well to be honest the only birds that hum are called "Humming Birds" but as colorful as they are... they can't sing. So it's a bit of a trade off.

Aren't they the only birds who can fly backwards?
  • Who said they are singing? How do you know they arent having in-depth conversations? If you have one way to communicate you have no choice. Could be their language comes out sounding like song to us just like some languages come out sounding harsh and gutteral to us while others are swoon worthy sexy.

      Good answer !! Thank you.

They are without any cares. Happy that everything they need is provided for them...... They sing for joy....
    • Linda Joy
      Bird brained conversations. lol
  • It is in their nature to sing, particularly dawn and dusk. Kind of like a melodic version of "The Walton's" saying good night to each other. Multi-purposed ommunication!
    • Ice man
      Best explanation yet .
    • Roaring
      This is fun!
  • It's mostly male birds, attempting to attract mates and warn other males away from their territories. Why did you put it in this category? Is there something different about birds in England? Or did you repurpose the question?
  • They are praising God, praying, or talking.
  • cause theyre happy and god nnade thenn that way
