Mmm, perhaps - a person could not systematically review all your inputs, I get it. (Y!A had something similar.) It still wouldn't avoid the single onesy-twosy vindictive DRs on questions/answers, but yes, I think it would eliminate the wholesale mass DRing that some evil trolls do.
-
My only stricture would be that Non Members cannot come onto the site and go through a persons postings. That seems a little strange to me.
-
I think I like the idea of having the option of not allowing anyone to view all my Q&A's. Maybe only the CL's and site admins should have full rights to everyone's Q&A's so they could investigate any possible abuse.
-
It probably should be suggested by the masses. Maybe they'll listen then.
-
They are busy with other stuff, I suppose. But yes, I would love that feature. I'm not sure if it would drastically cut down trolling (because I've seen the ways of trolls in the past. They are vicious), but it would definitely make the stay of people here more pleasant.
-
Great idea. but, you would have to remove the friends feature all together, what use would it be?
-
I think that is the best idea I have ever heard on here. ConTROLLing the trolls is a wonderful idea. Perhaps they could only go back one page or so, so that the anti-troll patrol could still repair the damage done.
-
Mabey they should only let friends see?
-
Yeah. Keep the profiles private or the Q and A at least, and Answerbag should have a blocking feature where users can block other users.
-
I don't know how much work it would take to implement that feature or how much processor load it would produce, but outside of that I think it's a good idea. One sub-option I'd like to see would be for blocking ranges, e.g. either nobody could see them or only those on a user's friends list could.

How about limiting how many down rate points an individual can give another individual per week? That's what they do with posi-trollers. The limit for negative points should be much strickter, however, than the limit for positive points:) Don't stop the fairies!!
-
I don't know about that. Then, the only way old question and answers could be found and UPrated by others would be pretty much by chance. I believe there would also be a problem with Google. (Search "answerbag <your username>" and you'll see your profile. Right now, it's the ONLY way to find your own prior answers without browsing each and every page, trying to find a keyword.) Because your activity and feedback would probably still be shown, at least through Google, I really doubt it would cut down on trolls. They could find all your questions that way (Google), and go from there. (What kind of a repository/database for questions and answers would it be if the best ones are behind a privacy fence?)
-
I think trolls is just something that we all have to learn to live with. Restricting access to Q's and A's...on ANSWERBAG!!! Sort of defeats the purpose of the whole site don't you think?
-
Because Answerbag cut a deal with Google that all entrys are public. Then google can link to every entry. whatever you write on this game site is viewable by anyone on the internet. Trolls are part of the game site. Trolls are a given. There are at least two kinds of trolls. Nega trolls and Posi trolls. If you eliminate one you have to eliminate the other. Where there is plus there also has to be minus. If someone can give one player sixty plus points and that is okay. then someone should be able to give one person sixty minus points and know that is okay. I dont think trolls should be nuked. Or restricted, its not democratic. trolls build character. the sooner the victim gets over the moan and groan and complain stage the better for everyone. Anyway, I think the trolls are moderators gone berserk. There are so many good people on this site that its difficult to believe there could be people who have the time or interest to nega troll. Then the moderators nuke their memberships and its like they never existed. Our memberships cant be nuked. We get put in the penalty box. All your data remains public. Isnt that fishy.
