I do some gentle stretching exercises in bed on first waking and a short meditation. THEN comes the coffee!

im a sucker for coffee even when i was pregnant i had to have it even more. i dont know why i craved it more when i was preg then any other time in every pregnancy i craved it. but its what wakes me in the morning without it im a grouch.

Taking a shower wakes me up pretty well, and if I have to be at work really early I'll drink an energy drink

I keep Red Bulls beside my bed. I also take Ginko Biloba and sublingual (the kind that dissolves under the tongue) B12 vitamins. If all of that doesn't fire you up...

Alarm clock, that`s about it. Sometimes I don`t even use that.

housework - make the bed, do some dishes - wash my face - move those bowels - and i am out the door!

I need my coffee. Not only does it give me the energy boost I need to wake up the rest of the way (because I can't, because I have this sucky metabolism), but it also takes away the stomach cramps I wake with. It's a regular thing. My stomach is a curse. But coffee somehow regulates my digestive system--well, a little bit.
