No problem! I'm assuming your old engine is before 87'?? The 93 engine's spark advance is 'controlled' by a computer, the old engine's (before 87'?) spark advance is controlled by vacuum (vacuum advance). I would use the distributor from the old engine and tap or tee into the intake manifold for the vacuum hose (the first part of 87 trucks with the 'Vortec' engines still used carburetor). The problem will be wiring the new engine's alternator and fuel system (88'-95' fuel pressure is 9-13psi and there is no place to use a mechanical fuel pump on the newer engines)to your existing harness.....Sorry, I should wait til next question?
