No, not the buses ... but the subways will allow bikes on the first and last cars out of the standard 9 car train ...

Yes they do. Though, to tell you the truth, I've never noticed a bike on one because the racks are on the front and if I'm behind a bus, I change lanes and zoom on by!

Yes in Chi town and the suburbs they do & folks use them.

You bet. Alternate forms of transportation are strongly encouraged. The main exception is the shuttle I take to work - but they allow us to put our bikes in the luggage area.
