  • Every plant that i bought i repoted in a little bit larger pot and added dirt. your going to have to do it sooner or later. and yes the water absorbs a whole lot faster.
  • You might want to trim back the roots a bit when you repot it as rubber plants can grow really large if you aren't careful.
  • I've had a couple of rubber tree plants for about six years now. I find that you want to keep them a bit dry, they don't do well if over watered. I have transplanted mine about every year and they have more than doubled in size. They now are about five feet high and 3 feet wide. The only concern I have is that the roots do keep coming out of the soil and circle around the pot, making me think it could be getting root bound? Maybe it is time to re pot, but they are quite large and the pots I have are at least 3 foot across and 3 foot high. I would really like to keep them in the pots I have, as they get heavier with more soil added. Does anyone have any suggestions? And if I keep them in the same pot will they continue to grow taller?
