  • Back in 2000 I was 18yrs old and was in a near death car accident. I was a passenger in a geo prisim, and my boyfriend at the time was driving, we were on a 4 lane rd, and he was said to be racing someone we went to school with. At a certin point on this road it went back into one lane and there was a gas station on the right of us on a hill. A roll back wrecker did not stop at the stop sign comming out of the gas station and we hit it on my side of the car. I was knocked unconcious on impact, my seat belt broke and I went through the windshild, I was sitting indian style in the seat and the dash board was pushed into my lap and that kept me from going all the way out of the windshild. When I got to the Hospital the doctors said that I had about a 4% chance to live, I had broke my left knee in half, screws were used to put it back together and ues and external fixator to keep it set in place, I broke my right femur, had a rod put in to keep it together, had torn tendions in my left knee, broke my left tibia, which they placed back together and stitched my skin back up then put my right leg in a full length brace, broke my left wrist, casted it, broke to ribs and punchard my lug, had a chest tub, I laserated my liver which healed on its own, had facial damage which consisted of a gash above my right eye, a gash on the lower part of my chin, and I had knocked three teeth out which I soon got a partcial for. I had a feeding tube till I was well enought to eat on my own. I recovered very quickly and better than doctors thought I would have. Since my accident I hav gotten back on my feet doing anything I want and have had three kids and love life like there will not be a tomarrow. Don't ever take you life for granted, it could be over in a blink of an eye. Enjoy life!
  • In all truth, the only vehicle accidents I have ever been involved in were cases in which I was "rear-ended". I was stopped dead at a light or stop sign every time. And all three times were when the "crash car" was driven by a teenage male who was not paying attention to what he was doing. So, young guys, you wonder why you pay higher insurance than the rest of us? That's why.
  • first one, a farm vehicle turned in front of me and I ran right into the middle of it. There were a lot of witnesses that came forward for me on that one. I walked away from it but the car was totaled. second one, I didn't stop at a stop sign and got hit dead center and flipped I don't know how many times and amazingly I walked away from that one with just minor injuries, of course the car was never seen again. Third one, I hit a deer when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant, it did about $3000 damage which insurance paid for, so we fixed the car up.
  • I've gotten in lots of minor accidents, one-and-multi vehicle in nature, and never did I have to have my car towed away. My sister, on the other hand, has totaled 3 cars, two of them accompanied by DWIs.
  • I've been in two serious accidents, both on motorbikes, both where I flipped over a turning car. Neither was my fault, neither resulted in any injury except a few scratches. I now drive a car.
  • I have been in two two-vehicle accidents and one three-vehicle accident. They were mostly fender benders so the car was drivable after the accidents.
  • One-vehicle accident, car coming down steep mountain pass, faulty brakes from the manufacturer. Luckily came to a stop plowing into the other side of the road into a bank and tree. Car was totalled, all 5 people okay. I was in my early teens, very scary!
  • A few Single vehicle (as passenger) - Not even close. It was on it's side with a telephone pole across the dashboard. Single vehicle - Possibly after getting it off of it's roof, though with a severely cracked windshield. (Landed in deep, powdery snow) Multi-vehicle - Definitely, minus a tail light. Some dumb c*nt didn't check the rear-view in her SUV when backing up and then proceeded to floor the gas when her car stopped, unaware that she hit us.
  • 3 accidents: First, I swerved to avoid someone changing lanes into me and ended up hitting a curb, a "right lane must turn right" sign, and grazed a telephone pole. Fortunately I stopped a few feet short of the train tracks, had to be towed away. Second, I was behind a pickup truck at a stop light, the light turned green and we started to go, someone ran the red (from our left to our right), the guy in front of me slammed his brakes, and I bumped him. We stopped, looked at the damage, shrugged, shook hands, and went about our lives. Third, my wife and I were rear-ended on our way out of a parking lot by a girl who hadn't gotten the hang of her clutch yet. Again, we stopped, looked at the damage (or lack thereof), shrugged, shook hands, and went about our lives.
  • Just the one. I was in my brand new car (only had it a month) and got hit by a guy being stupid on his motorbike. He was OK but my poor little car was a write off. Thank goodness for insurance!
  • A few one vehicle accidents, one which I couldn't drive the car away. (I was working for RACO at the time, by the way) A couple two car accidents, minor fender-bender types.
  • Yep. There were LOTS of Gremlins in the junkyards at that time. Wouldn't know why... . I fixed pretty much everything in one night, except the transmission/flywheel. I drove it until the transmission quit, a couple months or so later. THEN I got that fixed. Cost me a couple hundred or so for that, if I remember correctly.
  • yea, i was in a wreck with my sis n law and my nephew, who was a yr old at the time. I was making a left turn. I yielded my turn, but some idiot came over the hill and rammed my right side and completely bent both doors in,broke my tire rod, and cracked my windshield. It was raining really hard. The guy sped up over the hill and swerved to hit me rather than miss me. The officer didn't charge anybody due to weather. Everyone was ok, and the funny thing is, i wrecked in front of the house i lived at yrs. before!
