  • im sure it has a center. But no edges. Think of it this way it is an explosion where that coninues on forever. So for example. If you stuck a firework into a tomato and blew it up, then the peices would be expanding outward in all directions only it NEVER STOPS just keeps going ang going. I also feel the center of the universe is God.
  • No, neither. The big bang didn't just happen somewhere in space -- SPACE ITSELF expanded from the big bang. No matter where you are in the universe, you observe everything moving away from you as the universe expands. Every observer has the illusion of being at the center. The familiar analogy (dropped down a dimension so it can be visualized) is an inflating balloon, with dots painted on the surface to represent the universe of galaxies. As it expands, everything moves away from everything else. To an ant crawling on the surface, it has no center and no edges. As they say, the universe is "finiite but unbounded". In reality it's a four-dimensional structure so it can't readily be visualized. In some models, it's believed that if you traveled far enough in a straight line you would return to your starting point.
  • I'm not sure about the edge, but I'm pretty sure the universe does have a center.....ME!
