old fashioned me... I have a BBQ pit and we BBQ over pine and hickory
Charcoal, because it's more fun than gas.
Gas is good if you just want to cook your food, but charcoal is the way to go if you want to amuse yourself for a few hours.
People actually invest in charcoal barbecues if they know I'm going to the event, because they know I'll happily take charge of all the cooking. If it's a gas barbecue, I don't bother.
Nobody else seems to enjoy playing with coal barbecues as much as I do, but you should try it.
A word of caution: throwing hot coals into your neighbours extremely overgrown garden to clear it a bit isn't a good idea, trees are prone to being set alight and causing a bigger fire than you or your brother anticipated.
Charcoal, but I never turn down an invite because the grill is gas .
Charcoal! It's just not real BBQ here in the south on a gas grill.
Charcoal...it brings out the flavor.....;)
I prefer gas for the convenience and control. To augment the flavor, I have placed pieces of mesquite or readily available flavoring briquets at the bottom of my gas grill.
Charcoal is much better. it gives the food a taste, that gas cannot.
Any gourmet will say charcoal; there's a relationship in food between quality of food and the magnitude of the hassle required to prepare it. Also, charcoal imparts a nicer flavor than gas.
Charcoal. I also use gas for convenience if I dont have time or Im just plain dont have enough patience to let the charcoal briscuits to get ready for the food. Charcoal is king for steak and burgers though.
To smell? DEFINITELY charcoal grill, every time!! (Especially depending on the variety of 'gas'...)
Charcoal tastes good with somethings, but I'd go with gas for overall convenience
Depends on the cook.
Gas. Charcoal doesn't taste as good, and is harder to regulate temp.
depends on whats on the grill
Gas. I hate the charcoal taste.
A real BBQ uses charcoal, LP gas is for girlie men
charcoal my wife is a former home ec teacher. she has proven the taste is better
Charcoal, it adds flavor :)
It's not BBQ to me unless it is cooked on charcoal and the charcoal must be Kingford.
Charcoal
Charcoal please don't understand the point of the gas grill
charcoal. i don't like gas burgers
If someone else is doing the cooking, charcoal. If I am doing the cooking, gas - it's faster.
BBQ on a charcoal it gives the meat the cook out flavor...
Charcoal! Only Kingsford for me!
I prefer charcoal, you cant beat its authenticity and im always a sucker for the old-school...that being said, i love my gas grill for the fact that i can be eating barbecued hot dogs in ten minutes of craving them
real BBQ is done on charcoal
On charcoal cause it's better.
Both!! I want some right now! Good job you made me hungry that means you must make me some hamburgers. thanks
gas is good for quick, but I do like coal for it's flavor, and it;s fun.
I heard that charcoal is better, but I agree with Firebrand on this one.
Gas Is fine and It's much quicker, but I would prefer charcoal If I had the time =)
Don't know - I Would rather cook in side.
Charcoal.... who wants to cook their bbq under a gas flame, when they can have the charbroiled meal?
I assume you mean grill
Both when it comes to different types of food.
Either or. I prefer charcoal though.
Wood, actually.
Real men burn wood.
OF those two, I'd say charcoal has better flavor unless you add the smoking of hardwoods to your gas grill. But I pr3efer doing the whole thing with strictly wood. We rarely use charcoal anymore. We build a fire with logs and use that.
Gas. It's less messy and easier.
Charcoal isn't bad though sometimes that tar/chemical taste gets to me. I prefer wood, especially hard woods with flavor, apple is a favorite. Hickory and mesquite isn't bad.
On broil in the oven. On the grill is unhealthy period.
I use gas but the "real thing" is charcoal.
Charcoal is much better.
Charcoal tastes better. Gas is easier!
Charcoal for sure, but it's messy and takes full on skilz yo!
Charcoal always better flavor--gas for convenience
Steaks=Charcoal Everything else=gas
Chaorcal! Gas does not produce the smoke that makes grilled food taste, well, smokey. That being said, chaorcal should not have lighter fluid or "insta-lite" briquettes.
Although I prefer the taste of charcoal, I have a gas grill. It heats up faster and less mess.
