I've been to Ediburgh but never to the tattoo....I drove from Edinburgh to Kyle of Lochalsh (before the bridge to Skye) and then up to Ullapool and Kinlochbervie and Clashnessie. My grandparents were from Kinlochbervie and Clashnessie(you'd have to look hard on the map to find it)....my father, Glasgow.....beautiful country...but very austere...LOL No wonder they invented Scotch!
