Prior to becoming 23rd PM of Oz Bob Hawke was a bit of a lush. He downed a yard of ale at the Turf Tavern in Oxford (same pub where Bill Clinton did not inhale) in 11 seconds in 1963 and entered the Guinness Book of Records as the quickest skull on record. He was known to be a bloody good drinker while the head of the ACTU, but drew it to a close and switched to orange juice when he entered politics.
