My show had been interrupted with a news bulletin that Kennedy had been shot.

I grew up in a small rural community, and I can still remember the electricity being connected! Then TV began in 1956, and in the whole community there were only two families who could afford one. I went to the local school with about 20 kids, and after school we would ride our ponies (or bikes) to either Dunn's or Murdoch's to watch The Mickey Mouse Club. I think back now and appreciate how much Mrs Dunn and Mrs Murdoch put up with - having probably half the school invade their home 5 nights a week!

Why would they put my parents favorite show and my favorite show on at the same time?! I sometimes got to watch mine if it was palatable to my folks but most times is was Sullivan.
