I don't know how common this sentiment is but I have heard it among some, not necessarily on AB.
-
educated people who vote dont think that

Ugh...my mom is that way. I'm not sure if she actually believes that he is a terrorist or not, but I have heard her bring that up a couple of times. It's really ridiculous.
-
He is a terrorist sympathiser, sympathising with Al Quada and the Ben Laden cause. He wants to sit down to tea with President Ajaminhihad. Makes him just as guilty I suppose.

His middle name has absolutely nothing to do with my feelings about him. His lack of experience is of utmost concern however. I know people are all about change, but the man has only three or so years of experience on the national level and none on the international political scene. McCain is old as dirt and who knows how screwed up his head is from being a POW in 'Nam. I just don't feel America has much hope fur the future at this especially crucial period in history. I believe Obama may someday make a good political leader. I'm just not so sure that that time is now...

Because alot of people in this country are racists. Yes King Hussein did a lot of good things but remember Barack Hussein Obama and Hussein Bin Talal are two completely different people. People have a hard time telling the difference between a Muslim and a terrorist. They just make it simple for themselfs Muslim=terrorist. lie! Besides the eytmology (the study of names) of Hussein means "to be good, to be handsome" http://www.behindthename.com/name/hussein

Judging by some of the Q&A I've seen here on AB, and some of the emails that people have been forwarding around for a while, apparently there are a lot of people who are gullible enough to believe all the lies about Obama being Muslim and also a terrorist. For some people, if they don't like someone they will believe any lie you tell them. For others, since it's not politically correct to play the race card, they have to come up with some other "reason," even if it's not true, to convince others not to vote for him. I think most open-minded, educated people aren't going to fall for such nonsense. The rest probably also believe those guys actually found Bigfoot and that Elvis is still alive, too!! http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/muslim.asp

"Hussein", meaning "good" (or "handsome"), is one of the most common Arabic names there is. It would be like a white guy named John or last name Johnson.
-
I'm not so shallow and narrowminded I would hold his middle name against him. I don't like his last name either
-
I don't dislike him because of his name or because he's black. I don't agree with his stand on the issues, does this automatically make me a racist? Just because i don't like him? He's the racist if anyone! Read his his books. He's mixed!
-
It's just like saying John McCain is an American Hating Australian just because his middle name is Sydney. Ohh, he's going to let Australia invade (with Canada=] ) just because his middle name is Sydney.
-
That's the best they can come up with to attack his character, but it only makes them look stupid.
-
That is so silly. Names are not given by the person but by their parents, after all! There is nothing wrong with the name Hussein. It goes well with the rest of his name. With Smith, it might not go so well.:-)

Well, where's the beef? You need arguments in order to prove your opponent's position to be wrong. Stereotypes are much easier to sell.
