  • What is in your rental agreement? Does it say who is responsible?? If you are renting a single family house, the usual arrangement is that the tenant cuts the grass at no charge to the landlord. He is considered also renting the grounds and needs to keep them in shape just as he is to keep the inside of this home in shape. If you don't do it someone has to, most cities demand the property be kept up. If you live in an apartment and there are other apartments within the same building, the landlord may be responsible for keeping the grounds in shape. But, again, how does the rental agreement read?? Does it specify who cuts the grass?? If it is you, the landlord may not owe you anything. If it is the landlord, he may owe you.
