  • I have a "one per customer" rule. I will only attend one wedding for a person and one baby shower. After that they are on their own.
  • Good point, though I believe it is usually a first child thing or the last child was so long ago that it seems like the first one.
  • why didnt you just opt out of attending rather than begrudging a new baby a new present?
  • Yes, I agree a shower gets very "old" when you have more than one. However, some people have a great need to be mercenary. :o)
  • It's not usually the case that the pregnant woman throws her own shower. So, if someone wants to throw her a shower, and takes the trouble of inviting everyone, then she'll have one. If someone does that every time she gets pregnant, then she'll have one every time. I'd say that most of the time, the subsequent baby showers would get lesser gifts. A few new baby clothes, a few new toys, or blankets. But yes - furniture, baby seats, high chairs, strollers, clothes, toys, etc can all be used for more than one child.
  • i think it is proper for a woman to get 1 shower for her first baby - unless there is at least 5 years between children and/or she got rid of a lot of stuff and the pregnancy is a suprise
