Brains, hands down! 1.) I find intelligence attractive, and the opposite annoying. 2.) Physical beauty (as defined by our culture) fades. 3.) A plastic surgeon can make you better looking. I have yet to find the procedure/surgery/etc that can make someone smarter.

If we're talking about romantic relationships, I'd rather have a moderately attractive and intelligent woman than a supermodel with the intellect of a piece of toast. For me having a romantic relationship, she has to have a minimum level of attractiveness for me to be interested. After that threshold is crossed, it's then mainly up to personality and intelligence, and any "additional" beauty doesn't count for much. If she doesn't suit my fancy attractiveness-wise, it's much better to just be friends.

Im not very bothered as to which one i prefer brains, this would be because i once dated a model who wasn't very clever and she spent all of her money and lost her job. but i also prefer people who are good looking but don't mind admiting that they are clever.

brains I think. a lot of beautiful people I have known have had terrible personality flaws due to their always having been told how special they are. I appreciate someone with a good mind. Actually, my hubby is cute AND smart, so I won both ways.

More important for what? A beauty contest, or certain movie roles would require beauty over brains, but in a trivia contest brains would be more important.

depends on the type of beauty you speak of....and the brains... she could be book smart plain looking and no common sence...is that nice???? or ugly and supper intelegent...... not much better cause you must find the person attractive to even like them..... so i think if she is pretty to you then brains and beauty must be equal or it wont be the best it could be^_^

It depends on what I'm looking for - sex, a good looking piece of arm candy for a social function, or a friend. (yes, I left out "relationship", because I'm really not that into that and can't invest enough of my time into one anyway). For sex or arm candy, beauty win every time, although the arm candy has to be at least above borderline retarded (over 80 IQ or so), or else she might embarass me or make me seem as shallow as I am. ;-) For a friend, I much prefer brains. However, I tend to become friends most exclusively with good, or at least above average, looking people, both men and women (and I'm straight, so it's nothing to do with the looks on a conscious level). They're all smart or smart-ish, meaning at least 140+ IQ, and well educated too. I think I gravitate to people who are better looking just because they tend to have better, or at least more pleasant, personalities. Unattractive people are often depressive or sad or bitter inside, and, at least to me, don't hide it very well behind what I'm sure they believe are very sincere feelings of compassion, kindness, and good humour.

Beauty and brains are important. I have dated some very beautiful Asian girls but they had nothing to offer but their beauty and that got boring very fast. I don't want to always feel that I am talking to myself or that she is always one step behind me either. However, I could not be with someone if I don't at least find her attractive. I rather not be with someone beautiful and no brains but cute and with brains.
