I have 2 theories on this one. 1. If you live in a cold and snowy climate, you will clean ice off the driver's side wiper blade more thoroughly, thus putting more stress on the blade and weakening it; or 2. You notice the poor performance of the driver's side blade because you look through the windscreen in front of it more often and more directly, thereby inducing you to replace it more often.
