  • Relax, your parents must of liked it, that's why they went along with it. It's the same as a baby book or a name from a Soap Opera - if they didn't like it or thougfht it suited you - you wouldn't have gotten it.
  • At least it's a little more interesting than "I found it in a baby book".
  • Hey Lady Alathia, didn't you just have a baby? Did you name them after something someone on here suggested? Or are you just wondering? Anyway, I wouldn't care. At all. My name is my name, and I don't care where it came from, or who suggested.
  • Its not somebody just gave them a name and they had to take it. They had other options and selected the name b/c they liked it. A name doesnt make the person, the person makes the name. I work in a call center and speak to hundreds of people a day. While I was pregnant, a spanish interpreter use to give me lists of pretty mexican names. I actually picked my daughters name from the list she gave me.
  • There have been lesser methods that have worked out fine. It really would not have bothered me. I was named for two grandfathers. However, I ended up with one of their middle names because it was a choice between the name of a presidential candidate and a mayor. They figured the mayor would be forgotten sooner. And he was. My young grandson was named by his 5 year old brother who just made something up. It sounded good and so the parents used the named. I am guessing that the internet mommy and daddy were found something that struck a chord with them and went with it not really concerned about who offered the advice.
  • Why on earth would anybody care how their parents chose their name? It's hardly something that you should expect your parents to have agonized over for months is it? Surely, all parents simply pick a name they happen to like the sound of because they have heard it somewhere or another. If you ask a parent why they picked a certain name the chances are the answer will be no more than 'we liked it'.
