  • Choosing the correct prop depends on many factors. How heavy you normally load the boat, whether or not you use it for skiing or just cruising, etc. The props diameter can be found by measuring the distance from the center of the prop shaft to the bottom of the cavitation plate. This is the radius. Double it to get the diameter, then subtract about 1/2 inch for clearance. The other number to find is the "pitch". The correct prop pitch is the one that let's your motor operate at it's designed rpm at wide open throttle during use, this is where loading and passengers come into play.
