If knitwear has shrunk from being machine washed, is there anything that can be done to reverse the shrinkage without damaging the item of clothing?

    Not from my experience, however one of my warmest sweaters was once a huge wool sweater that belonged to my ex until I accidently shrunk it... oops, sorry!

    No. You can try and stretch it back out a bit, but it'll never be the same again.
