First fat does not add weight calories do, trans fats and saturated fats need to be kept as low as possible to prevent disease. Look at the Atkins diet where the body goes into ketosis and you eat all the fat you can in this case somehow the blood numbers seem to appear healthier, but common sense tells me there is a hidden danger to this diet, but if you need to lose 10-30 lbs quick in a few months this diet is the way to go but to stay on this would scare me, anyway i love my bread too much to stay on this diet. As for gaining weight you begin to gain weight as soon as you begin eating more calories than you burn in a day. hopes this helps
