Whose business is it but yours and the person with whom you're going to share it? Of course it's not rude as long as you both agree. Some people are very "particular" and resent anyone wanting to taste/share anything on their plate. I sure don't get it, but that's how they are. So you have to know the person well enough to know if he/she is going to be offended. I think sharing is terrific. :)

I don't think so but if you feel uncomfortable you should say it's to share when you order then they will bring you two plates.
