Help answer this question below.
Let child help you remove all critters (eight legs or any other amount) with the vacuum. Then (depending on age of kid), do a bit of spidery explanation with a quick run through of Incy-Wincy (optional). When room is cleaned and clear of all insect life pick out one of kids toys (stuff animal is good) and put the toy 'on guard' in the bedroom each night. Make a big thing and tell kid (age depending), that (eg) Barney the purple dinosaur is the new Spider Security Sentry and his job is to prevent any and all spiders entering the room. Give the toy a torch, a hat if you can and place it where it can see the room (window sill) or by the door.
i duno, but if you find out a gud solution let me kno pretty please!
ive been scared of the dark & of creepy crawlies all my life (o . O)
oh btw the pic of the dog in ur display is GORGEOUS! =)
Try faking (be as realistic as possible....hairspay?) that you are spraying for spiders or otherwise killing all of the spiders and spiders eggs in the room while assuring your kid that this will work.
Buy him a special "spider repellant" that will not allow any spiders near him or his bed. http://shopping.yahoo.com/t-Bedding/mosquito-net-bedroom

I have no problems with small spiders on webs. It\'s the brown ones that scuttle around the basement floor that really get me.

Anyone have a idea on how to get rid of spiders, out of a house? And before anyone comes up with the funny/hot answer. I have no plans on burning the house down.....LOL.

Thanks Mushen! My Granddaughter has been waking every night since seeing a spider in her bedroom. My daughter has tried to explain how spiders are good insects but she isn't buying none of it. I will pass your ideas on to my daughter.

personally I think that they are detestable little creatures!

Me too!But I have to act brave for my Granddaughter. lol But without them there would be even more creepy crawlies!

Personally I would be more than happy to see the entire insect population drop down dead in the next 5 minutes. Until this happens, I have invested in a large bottle of kitchen cleaner (Mr Muscle is good) and a Dyson.

I don't think we have Mr Muscle here but Mr Clean will probably do the job! lol

I have a 4 year old boy and I'm in the same boat. He's now got to the stage where he picks them up and brings them in from the garden ("Look my Mummy, it's a spider"). I have been known to close the conservatory door until he takes it back to it's friends.

Awwwww, thats so cute! It's great that he has got over his fear of them. I know what you mean, they are better left outside with their creepy friends. I see you are from England. My Mum is orginally from Darlington,Durham County. Are you anywhere near there?

No, I'm down the other end (so to speak), in Kent.
