  • Firstly, I wanted to say I'm sorry about your loss. Secondly, maybe just schedule to have one done, even if the dr didn't say anything about it. Many hugs.
  • I too am sorry about your loss. It's unusual that the doctor wouldn't have suggested a D & C because you could have retained some tissue. It might be an idea to talk to the doctor again or see a different one.
  • I completely understand where you are coming from. I was 10 weeks pregnant and didn't have a D & C because I was told that your body usually expels everything naturally and I didn't see the point in having a medical procedure for the sake of it. I did however have another ultrasound 8 days later and was told there is a very small piece of tissue remaining. I went to my GP thinking that I would definitely need a D & C however she didn't seem to think it was needed. I am also concerned that the remaining tissue will effect my periods coming back and also if I was to fall pregnant before this has been expelled naturally would it make me miscarry. My GP said that as long as my hormone levels weren't too high this wouldn't be a problem. I had a blood test and they have come down considerably since the miscarriage. A week ago it was 13000 and I'm now down to 145 I am seeing a gynecologist tomorrow and if they think this will stop me ovulating or could cause another miscarriage if I do fall pregnant I will definitely opt for the D & C. I'll let you know how I get on.
