2002 chevy malibu, lower crankcase knocking noise under 2000 rpm, this is the second engine, original engine was replaced 1 year ago for same problem, dealership stated it had spun rod and main bearing, should the engine be replaced again? any SIB's

    I know this isn't the answer you want to hear, and you can rate it however you want, but if you have a 4 year old car that is possibly looking at it's 3rd engine, you need to s**t can it and get something else. Get another Chevy if you're brave, or get any one of the fine Chrysler or Ford products offered, but dump this car.
