  • LOL as in "What time does your 10 o'clock flight leave on Fridays?"....after 31 years working for an airline we used to joke that there was a big depository outside the airport doors where people left their brains before they entered the terminal.
  • I haven't worked in tourism but I live on an island that is a very popular tourist destination and I've often noticed that tourists seem to have left their brains at home, especially when they are driving. Brainless tourists and hare-brained locals often make driving an interesting experience.
  • It seems like both their bodies AND their brains are on vacation. And for many, their manners too. Some tourists wear innapropriate attire they wouldn't be caught dead in back home. Or let their seven year old daughter wear heels and makeup.... Or sit in the sun on the beach until they burn to a crisp. People: sunTAN and sunBURN are not the same thing. Get your babies out of the sun!!!!!!!!!
  • I've been in travel nearly 20 years. I used to expect that lack of knowledge when I did leisure travel. But, I've been handling corporate travel for 12 years now, and I'm still amazed how clueless people can be that travel all of the time! I'll get a call "I need to fly from California to Texas" and when I ask which cities I've gotten "What's the biggest airport?" I used to book a lot of groups to Hawaii, and have been asked if they take American money there (hmm...Hawaii has been a state since 1959..I think they've caught up by now!) and asked how much a train to Hawaii is. Some people just shouldn't leave the house!
  • Yes, isnt that what your supposed to do?
  • Just watch people in security lines at airports and see what TSA stops them with. Where have some of these people been and what were they thinking????
  • Yeah... It's a vacation isn't it? I throw mine on the couch before I leave.
  • Absolutely 100%. If they had their brains at a full functioning level, they would realize that a stop sign here means the same as it does back home. They would realize that even though it's hot, shorts, flip flops and a tank top are not appropriate dinner attire. They would understand that it doesn't take 12 at a time to go shopping for two day's worth of groceries. They would remember to treat people the same way they'd treat their neighbors at home. And they'd know to read the map first, THEN get behind the wheel.
