  • I think that it is understandable that people would interpret his remarks as a slight against the men and women who serve in the military. He has made a habit of misrepresenting them that started when he accused his comrades in Vietnam of committing atrocities worthy of Genghis Kahn based on nothing more than hearsay. Then, of course, there is the comment that he made more recently in which he accused our troops of "terrorizing women and children in the dark of night." So, given his history, it is understandable that he would think that our military men and women are uneducated. (BTW, the average level of education for military personnel is actually higher than it is for the general population of the US.) If it really was a botched slight at the President of the US, then it is a rather hollow one seeing as G. W. Bush actually had a higher grade point average at Yale than John Kerry did. So, it appears that Bush is the one that worked harder at his education. Any way you slice it, it was a stupid remark by a man who does not seem to have gotten over the fact that he lost the presidential elections.
  • I assume that it is in that video I posted. If it is, then I think that it is degrading to the men and women in Iraq. I would not want that said about me! It is in the video I posted in case you come on here and have no idea what is being talked about here. "He's already competing to lose the next presidential election".
  • Two thumbs up on posting the video,so there is no talking out of this one (rather it's talking into this one !
  • I think everything that comes out of his mouth is distasteful.
  • I take it as the mark of a man that tries to come across as intelligent and insightful but actually has no social graces to speak of. I did not find his remarks distasteful as I gathered his intent right off. The man can't keep his foot out of his mouth. What I find distasteful is that some people distort words,, cherry-pick facts, take things out of context, and blow things out of proportion just to sound holier-than-thou. Come on! Kerry's socially inept, not unpatriotic! I detect that Kerry feels frustrated that he has been the victim of those tactics before but every he attempts to fight fire with fire, it backfires. If a candidate can't win without demonizing their opposition, or you can't justify your own position with anything other than rhetoric and finger-pointing then you might have some issues. For that reason, I pity Kerry. He has become a pariah for no good reason.
  • the guy messed up, he didn't mean to make fun of the military, only Bush. but kerry is a terrible public speaker and goofed it up 's all. He served in the army, and was injured for it too, more than can be said about drunk-at-the-time Bush, so it's ridiculous to think he'd no turn on the army. He messed up and Republicans who fear him gianing support in case of a relection, or to bury the many great points he did bring up just focus on this question and make him try to look like some modern day hitler who said the "big bad insult" to distract american.s and obviously it worked if we're having a post about it. 'sides, he could even have been mentioning the fact that Bush and his team worked at and had it approved a bill that significantly lowered the standards for intellect and physical ability for recruiting soldiers because the need is so great so they hunt down those who have little obvious future stated ahead for them. sheez, this was blown way out of proportion.
  • He did seem a little on the toasted side.
