  • It's hard to explain. Basically the gas is igniting too soon in the cylinder, so the spark plug isn't causing it to ignite. Therefore you aren't getting full compression. First, try a higher octane gas. If that doesn't fix it, then you may want to have a mechanic listen to it.
  • it could be a number of things, from minor annoyance that's easily remedied, to major headache that's very expensive. try "geek860"s suggestion first. then try some fuel system cleaner or have the system cleaned by a mechanic. i don't know if you live near a walmart, but they have an excellent bargain on fuel system cleaning now, i recommend it. if that doesn't clear it up chances are it's bad, internal engine parts failure. bearing failure, bent rod, et cetera.
