  • I have both but have been contemplating letting the land line go...
  • We do,but everyone calls me on my mobile. I never give out my house number.
  • We got rid of the unreliable landlines a few years ago,out here in the boonies water would make them stop working or give ghost rings constantly,no reason to keep them if the cells work all the time(much less when the power goes out and we need to contact the power company, you couldn't call on land lines),,kinda makes sense to get rid of them.

  • Telephone is cellular, I was seldom home to answer the phone and the DSL internet connection was not good. Cable now provides TV and internet.
  • Three years ago I had only a cellular phone and it was a nightmare because companies in the UK are not geared up for it. I can't remember which companies I had trouble with now, but there were a few who insisted on me having a landline in order to have an account with them. I had to give my work number as if it was my home number, or give someone else's number, it was ridiculous. It was also more expensive for people to phone me, so I wouldn't be without a landline now, unless it became just as cheap and easy as not having one.
  • Yeah, cuz what if you had lost your cell phone? How would people contact you???
  • Of course I have a land line. I would give up the cellular first. When there is an emergency and everything is down, the land line always works. It's the best communication value out there -- just a line with no added features -- very cheap and useful. When your high speed internet is down you can always get online with a phone line.
  • Yes, still have a landline for fax, answering machine and scrambler phone. +3
  • I make international calls nearly every day and I wouldn't be able to do that economically on a mobile, so I have a land-line phone as well.
