What were the precautions you took when you drove alone on a long distance especially at night?

Tucked my hair under a baseball cap and didn't wear big earrings.

I make sure i'm not drowsy, that someone knows that i am going somewhere and when i should be arriving at my destination. If i need to get out of my car to get gas or something, i always call someone that i can talk to so that if anything were to happen to me, someone would know and could alert the proper authorities, however, i feel that seeing that someone is on the phone would deterr anyone from preying on me. Overkill im sure lol.
