*rofl* Yes! I knew people who did that. So ridiculous.
-
How funny is that? Yes I know people who do that and it still cracks me up....it sounds so elegant *Tar-zhay*.
-
I do that, solely because my husband is a goofball and complains about the French stealing our money through Target. He's a whackjob, but I love him anyway.
-
The first time I ever heard of that store, someone told me that in Minnesota or somewhere in middle-America, it is pronounced Tar-zhay.
-
Aye, the 'french' pronunciation. I know people who work there who call it such.
-
LOL! First time I heard that was from a friend of mine in college who worked there part-time. It made it sound so "fancy." We still say that sometimes. And my aunt started me saying Mar-SHALLS instead of Marshall's.
-
My mom does it all the time. I'm guilty of the Val-martz.
-
Yes. My mother does that. All the time. I have to admit that I've been known to use Val-Martz.
-
hahaha. I do. In French, I believe that's the correct pronunciation. ;)
-
I worked at target we called it Tar-zhay all the time. I still do and Val-Martz as well
-
The only people I ever heard pronounce it that way were friends who work there.
-
I call it Target, but have known people to call it "Tar-zhay"
-
LOL! I thought that was just an Aussie thing! Yes! I know heaps of people that say that!
-
I have a friend who always pronounces it this way, which cracks me up every time!
-
Used to when I worked at Verizon, we'd get gift cards for them all the time. And we always said it with a twirl of the hand.
-
Yes, that is the only way my mother will say it.
-
I am so tired of that. It causes me grief. Along with calling McDonalds "The Golden Arches" and some other cornball thangs out there.
-
I hear it all the time in the San Francisco area. From straight people, too.
