What is the average height for a woman? what is concidered short and tall?

    It depends on where you are.

    In the US, somewhere around 5'6" is normal while 5'2" is short and 5'9" is tall.
    My mother is 5'10" and considered almost freakish because of her height and my aunt has it worse at 6'2".
    On the other hand, my other aunt is the freak of our family at 5'3" (the only one over age 12 shorter than my mother) and I always crack short jokes about her and my MIL (5'1").

    I'm guessing the average height is about 5'5"

    Under 5 feet is short, over 6 feet is tall.
