  • Like the back of my hand
  • Only when the chips are down do people tend to show their true colors.
  • You can only know someone as well as they'll let you get to know them. (The Bruce Springsteen song "Secret Garden" speaks of this.)
  • I think if a person is totally honest with you, then you can pretty much predict his/her reactions to things. If you can depend on someone because of this predictability, then I think you can "know" him/her as much as it is possible. There are a few people who are predictable/dependable if and only if you always agree with them..if you have an independent opinion of which they don't approve, they can turn on you very quickly. They are not really "friends". They are people who need ego-stroking all the time..it is too tiresome and gets too tedious to give them what they want, so they go away! :) ((hugs))
  • It depends on a lot of things, but pretty well, if you are willing to work at it.
  • I think it is possible to know someone to the extent that you can complete his/her thoughts, finish sentences, and anticipate responses. I think you can know somebody very well with communication and the mutual desire to break through walls and truly understand one another. I mean, sometimes you think you know someone and then something happens and it isn't the right fit. But I definitely want to "really know" the people I am close to.
