The third book has yet to be announced. In the first book it was said that the third book would be titled "Empire". But the publisher (Knopf) has the right to change the name. Paolini said that the third book may not start with the letter E and may not have six letters like the first two. A movie adaption of Eragon is scheduled for release on December 15, 2006. It stars a mostly British cast including Edward Speleers as Eragon and Jeremy Irons as Brom info from wikepedia

Sorry but nobody has any idea when the third book will come out. Although I have heard LOTS of rumors including: August 20 2007, late 2007, early 2008, summer 2008. You can sign up for the newsletter on Christopher P's site (www.alagaesia.com). As soon as a date is released they will E-mail it to you. Hope this helps.

Well, it's not out yet because CP isn't done wrtting it, on his website (www.algaesia.com (I think that's how you spell it.)) he has the realease date.
