Yes. You serve the wrong God, you go to hell. Plain and simple. The way to heaven is through Christ alone.

It will be important to you, though it's perhaps not important to the universe at large. Some religions, such as mine (Asatru) have many gods, and it's believed by some that worshippers go to the hall of their patron deity (called a "fulltrui") upon death. It is believed, for example, that if you primarily worship Odin, then other deities are fine with that, so long as you give them the proper respect they are due at the appropriate times. In Asatru, and Heathenry in general, those who follow one of the deities still pray to the other ones when appropriate. Some people believe that if you don't ascribe to THEIR religion, you go to hell. Typically, they are follwers of Abrahamic religions. Keep in mind that not everyone believes this. I certainly don't tell people they're damned if they don't follow the old Nordic religion like I do. They can stick to their gods, and I'll stick to mine. :)

I am pretty sure that you are asking from the standpoint of the bible since your question was posted in JW. So according to the bible there is only one true Almighty God which is Jehovah or Yaweh to some. This was the God of the Israelites whom were his people. They were forbidden to worship any other gods besides him. If you remember the account in the bible about king Pharoah and Egypt. Pharoah conquered the Israelites because Israel had turned their backs on Jehovah and instead worshipped other gods of the nations. They became slaves of Egypt for like 600 years (more or less). It was only until they turned back to Jehovah that they were able to be freed. (Moses, the ten plagues, frogs, gnats, Red sea). I would say coming from a biblical standpoint there is only one choice.

Personally, I believe that as long as you are a good person, and (for lack of a better term) follow the "golden rule," and do your best to be a good person in life, you will have no worries in this life or the next.
