they can be both. but auto tends to cost more.

Due to the nature of spring powered airsoft guns, they can neither be fully automatic nor semi auto. You have to cock the spring each time in order for the pellet to be propelled.
-
actually spring powered rifle "cannot" convert into a fully automatic... honestly here in the philippines some gunsmith tried it all ready but it was proven that springer rifle cannot convert into fully automatic rifle.

I have a spring airsoft pistol, you have to cock it EVERY time so you can shoot one bullet, so spring airsoft guns are NOT semi or auto.
-
Simply put, no.

i did see a spring gun that had an electronic cocking thing but it means it rpm is lowerd! also if you but an electric gun the fps is rubbish normaly
-
you rarely find a auto spring gun as spring guns need to be cocked every shot! however my mate sent his gun to this site and then paid a bit and they sent him a new gun with an elecronic cocking system! it takes about 1 second to cock it so it some times jammes!

you guys are stupid. alls u have to do is make it so that when you pull the trigger it pulls the piston back and loads the gun. it doesnt have to be cocked everytime u put a new mag in and u never have to cock it. the fps may be weak but it beats getting cought with an unloaded gun when u pull it out of your holster. but u guys cant get your dicks out of your mouths and make one so i did, im not gonna tell you the design since you guys will probably screw it up but just thought id tell u to rub it in your faces
