Why do people seem to almost always take kindness for weakness? I can't figure that one out. Every time I see someone being kind it's as though people think they can be taken advantage of, it happens to me all the time. They are mistaken!!!!

hi,how right you are,i always treat other people with respect and all that go's with it.and yes,from time to time someone will take it as softness.i've no idea why.i'm a great believer in the old saying...courtesy costs you nothing...but as you said the foolish take it as weakness...regards..tessa5

I don't really understand it too. What puzzles me more is, whether I was taught to be kind or was I naturally kind? Its much easier to be cruel,nasty and be a bully. I am not usually unkind untill I'm being pushed too far. I see many a time my kindness is taken advantaged of. Yes, even children can take advantage of my kindness. I may be wrong but to me it's much more easier to be unkind and take advantage of others if it's possible..such people may take it as an apportunity to get a free ride with or without asking honestly if they may. So now I've learn the hard way..don't throw pearls to pigs..(meaning don't help those who are not going to be straight with you or may be insincere.
