  • Some estimates put the death toll (soldiers and insurgents/civilians) close to 1 million. Saddam was responsible for using chemical weapons against the Kurds during the Iran-Iraq war, resulting in about 15,000 civilian deaths. However, these weapons were sold to Saddam by the US Government while other weapons were sold to Iran, with the hopes of precipitating a war and intentionally causing instability in the region. You also can take into account the fact that UN-imposed economic/trade sanctions against Iraq since the first Gulf War resulted in hugely increased infant mortality rates, and resulting in civilian deaths estimated anywere between 170,000 and 1.7 million. It's not a simple matter of numbers on a piece of paper. There are many, MANY factors involved that can't be looked at as a boiled down tit-for-tat equation.
  • Saddam=0 Americans vs Bush=thousands of Americans and counting
  • Saddam killed many tens of thousands and kept his country in a reign of terror. Bush is an idiot, but the Iraqi and foreign terrorists / militias / ethnic cleansers are/were the killers in Iraq, not the US military.
