Yeah - I've stayed in some really nice B&B's where the owners have been very friendly and helpful and you haven't felt like you're intruding in their homes. Or they on your life.
I've also been unfortunate enough to stay in some seriously bad ones - where the owners are control freaks. An example being up by the castle Eileen Dolan in Scotland where they even drew diagrams to show you how you should park on their driveway . . . I've also ended up staying in some highly memorable places - like what also turned out to be a old people's home in Dublin run by what can only be described as Norman Bates and his mother. No, really. Staying in B&B's if nothing else is certainly an eye-opening experience!
