  • Well, maybe a little break is what you need. Take care of your depression first and something better may come along for you. Right now, your life is giving you some time to take care of what is most important, and that's your health. Please be well.
  • It seems unreasonable of your boss to my way of thinking since there was a valid reason and you have a family to support, but I guess it depends on the circumstances and the job. I have suffered from depression myself due to illness and it's not an easy battle to fight but I came out of it and I'm sure so will you. You have all the reasons in the world - and there's no medicine quite like a little person snuggling up to you and saying "I love you."
  • Just remember that God doesn't close a door without opening a window. Look for that next opportunity and chances are it will be a better job than your current one, and it will better suit your needs. Best of luck to you, and remember you have lots of friends here who love you and care about you!
  • You should talk to your doctor about getting on different medication, so that you are able to work. Your depression, is one of the basic symptoms of sleep apnea There are a variety of treatments for sleep apnea, depending on an individual’s medical history and the severity of the disorder. Some treatments involve lifestyle changes, such as avoiding alcohol and medications that relax the central nervous system (for example, sedatives and muscle relaxants), losing weight, and quitting smoking. Some people are helped by special pillows or devices that keep them from sleeping on their backs, or oral appliances to keep the airway open during sleep. If these conservative methods are inadequate, doctors often recommend continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), in which a face mask is attached to a tube and a machine that blows pressurized air into the mask and through the airway to keep it open. There are also surgical procedures that can be used to remove tissue and widen the airway. Some individuals may need a combination of therapies to successfully treat their sleep apnea.
  • It seems you've received many good answers here. I just wanted to add that my husband has sleep apnea and, before seeing the doctor, had symptoms much like depression (especially the tired feeling all the time). He had a sleep study, got a CPAP machine to sleep with and he's sooooooo much better! The machine feels/sounds wierd at first (for me, sort of like sleeping with Darth Vader), but it is so worth it and we've both gotten so used to it that niether of us can sleep well if it's not on. Good luck, and try to see the doctor earlier.
