"If I asked the other guy which gate to pick, what would he say?" I would then choose the opposite gate. If the truthful one answered, he would give the answer that the liar would give, which would be wrong. If the liar answered, he would lie about what the truthful one would say, and again the answer would be wrong. Classic puzzle.
