No. I collect because I enjoy the items I collect (tea cups & saucers, Barbies). No matter what books or appraisers say an item is worth, in truth it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. People are fickle, look at beanie babies, or depression glass, both are no longer 'hot'.
