  • In the state of Florida (I don't know about anywhere else) it would be a violation of child labor law for someone to hire a 12 year old. If a 12 year old needs pocket money, they're pretty much restricted to mowing lawns, babysitting, and possibly cleaning house for elderly neighbors.
  • Paper round? Weekend shop assistant? Waiter, waitress?
  • Hold yard sales for people. Almost everyone has things they need to get rid of, but no time to tag things and sit out there all day selling their wares. Offer to price (their recommendations, of course) and sell their merchandise for 1/2 of the profits (after advertising is paid for). Pet sit, walk dogs, house sit, clean houses, do yard work, etc.
  • Not many. Too young. Animal sitting, yard work, mowing the lawn, and allowance. It's a few years shy of other work... gotta focus on school!!!
  • At your age your main job is filling that brain of yours with knowledge. Read books, not blogs. Lots and lots of books. Spend at least an hour a day reading, preferably more. Read fluff, read serious books. Fiction, non-fiction. Read stuff that you think is years beyond you. When you finally reread those books later in college, you will be ahead of the game. Pull out a dictionary, pick out a word at random and find some reason to use that word in a sentence during the day. Then, after you've used the word from the dictionary, look it up in a thesaurus. Feed your head! That's your job right now.
  • I am in the same situation...i want money, and want to start working but don't know where!
  • If you live near farmland, farmers are always looking for kids to do something with the corn. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but it is there for the taking.
  • Well here a 12 year old couldn't get a serious job, so babysitting is the best bet. Other than that I would say doing something like cutting grass in the summer and shoveling for other people during winter. Yard sales and a paper route were good ideas :) What about dog walking?
  • You might be able to get a job de-tassling corn if you live near farms
  • Paper route...I made a lot of money when I was younger. Or mowing yards, cleaning house or maybe raking leaves for elderly in the fall.
