I didn't, for I am not gay. HOW MANY TIMES MUST I SAY THAT?!

Variations of this question have been asked many times on AB. If you do an Answer Search for something like "coming out parents" you should be able to find several. I'm not gay, but I did have to tell my catholic mom that I am an atheist. That was fun.

I flew.

Well it was after a bad break up and i wasn't eating or sleeping and i was constantly upset.. my mother of course knew something was wrong and asked why that certain person wasn't around (she thought we were friends) and i just told her... lol i was more upset than she was.. i was truly blessed she was totally there for me, and she even asked questions she was interested as opposed to disgusted... it was great.

um...well...i'm not gay... but telling my parents i was engaged once over the phone was... interesting.. lots of yelling and crying (i was 19)

I told my dad i was gay, and he said he was fine with it. Not very exciting huh? But he was very accepting of it because that day i learned that his sister (my aunt) was a lesbian.

I never got to come out to my dad...he passed away a few years before I came out. I finally called my mom and told her I wanted to get together and talk to her...but she insisted on knowing why so I came out to her on the phone. She has been very accepting of my and of my partner. The only thing she was angry about is that I didn't come out sooner.
